In this series I want to cover some of the things unique to playing a fretless electric bass. Lesson 1 deals with some of the ways to train oneself to play in tune and some of the factors in getting there.

The bass in this video has a mahogany body, maple neck and cocobolo fingerboard as well as a single passive Nordstrand MM5.2 pickup which is hardwired in parallel. The strings are more than 3 years old.

The amp, not mine, is a MarkBass Cube.
