We’ll start by assembling the pistons, and John will show you how to check your ring gaps and size the connecting rod bearings for a proper fit. The next step involves dropping in the camshaft, and again, John will guide you through how to size the bearings on your YXZ1000.

As we close the bottom end, there’s a sequence we need to follow for everything to seat properly. Then, we’ll add the oil pump and oil pan.

Next, we’ll turn our attention to the flywheel and the output flange. On the output, we’re going to replace a worn bearing before we put it all back together. We’ll wrap it up by bolting on the starter and the water pump.
