CCMP-Sinuosity Index and Channel Patterns

Описание к видео CCMP-Sinuosity Index and Channel Patterns

Alluvial Channels can be classified on the basis of Sinuosity Index (S.I)- ratio of channel length to valley length.

Channels can be straight, sinous, meandering, braiding or anatomising.
The concept can be used in discussing river channel floods and breach of banks of northern rivers.
This discussion can also be used in distinguishing peninsular rivers and northern rivers.
