Arrival Honors and Signing of the Guest Book of President Yoon Suk Yeol of the Republic of Korea

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. formally welcomes His Excellency Yoon Suk Yeol, President of the Republic of Korea, as the latter embarks on his first State Visit to the Philippines from 6-7 October 2024.

Accompanied by First Lady Kim Keon Hee and his delegation, President Yoon is accorded with arrival honors and signs the guest book in Malacañan Palace before proceeding to a bilateral meeting with President Marcos Jr. to discuss several matters aimed at deepening cooperation in various areas of mutual interests. These include political, security and defense, maritime, economic and development fields, and people-to-people ties.

Their meeting also centers on exchanging views on regional and international issues, as well as reaffirming the vibrant and dynamic relations between the two nations.

President Yoon’s visit is upon the invitation of President Marcos Jr. and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. This is also the first standalone bilateral visit of a South Korean President to the country since 2011.
