Flyfishing the Soca River, Slovenia - 8/31/24

8/31/24 Day 2 of fishing in Slovenia
Fished the Soca River with a late start, and it turned out to be a phenomenal day with over 20 trout landed, mostly gorgeous rainbows and 6 marbles, the largest marble trout at 21in! Considering the low water and warm temperatures fish were really active.

Some rain late morning freshened the river, that brought the marble trout out. After the rain, the mist on the river made Soca even more magical.
Can't believe my luck and of course, huge thanks to Uros Kristan, Urko Flyfishing Adventures, for spotting all the fish and showed me how to fish for them with dry fly and nymphing!

Many more fat and feisty rainbow caught on both dry fly and euro nymphing, a really fun day on the Soca River!
