Описание к видео Homely Goan meals @ Ponda's Raikar Farm

Today Maria and I are feeling extra hungry so we are crossing the Zuari river and going to Raikar Farm in our favourite Ponda taluka, where the food is very super tasty. We are really in the mood for some good fish curry rice.

To get to Raikar Farm, head towards the Kashi Mutt in Bandora from Khadpabandh, Ponda. As we were coming from Margao along the Margao-Ponda-Panjim highway, we stayed below the flyover at Khadpabandh, turning left towards the Kashi Mutt. Continue straight past the mutt till you reach a T junction. This is Donshivaddo in Bandora. Here you will see signage for Shree Shantadurga temple on the left turn and Shree Nagueshi temple on the right turn. Turn right, and follow the road straight to Shri Nagueshi temple, less than half a kilometre away. Raikar Farm is right after the Nagueshi temple wall, on the left.

There is plenty of seating up front and in the back, in this popular eatery. We preferred the open air seating at back and on our way there, we got a sneak peek of what we were soon going to eat.

Behind the restaurant area is the Raikar Farm. When you spot tall areca palms after Nagueshi temple, you will know you have reached Raikar Farm. We had a pleasant stroll through the areca plantation, spotting banana, bay leaf and lime. And literally above all, the beautiful supari trees that are so iconic of Ponda.

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Tanuja Pai Raikar, who showed us a glimpse of what we were about to eat: prawn curry rice, mix veg bhaji, sol kari and kismur. Shubhra, Mrs Raikar’s daughter, told us how quickly the restaurant has expanded in its short 12-year history. That can only mean the food is awesome, and in Ponda, that’s saying a lot

Today I'm having chonak thali and Maria is having prawns thali. We are also going to share one of our favourite dishes: a plate of teesrio sukha!

In Raikar's prawn thali, we have: prawn curry, mix veg bhaji, sal kari, dry mackerel kismur (after tasting we found it was mackerel kismur!), salad, pickle, rice and beautiful rawa fried prawns. My chonak thali has all the same, with a lovely piece of fried chonak.

Fantastic! Very tasty!

We really liked the food. Our stomach got full eating teesrios

Once again we are leaving Ponda and going home to Salcete with extremely satisfied stomachs. And we just want to tell Ponda and all Fondekars: where would we be without your culinary talents? We don’t want to even imagine a Goa like that. So thank you.
