NPC Advantages: gardevoir (life dew), burners (drifblim, arcanine), and paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, and dudunsparce) help. sylveon (charm) and intimidators (tauros, staraptor) may or may not help much depending on how much the sceptile AI decides to spam dragon dance. arboliva is harmful because it lays terrain with its ability which boosts sceptile's leaf blade.

Strategy: clear smog until your stats reset. 2x curse, clear smog, rest + heal cher if HP gets low, 4x curse, charge tera orb with clear smog if needed. top off your HP if below 3/4. terastalize, tera blast to victory.

Notes: white smoke frees up the held item slot for a shell bell, but when I tried it I lost to a critical hit. a fighting tera build with iron defense and body press takes less damage, and can combine shell armor with shell bell. however, the lack of supereffective makes the damage output about 70% of that of the fairy tera blast build, so it can take longer and risk running out of time.

Pros: supereffective tera type, good HP stat, excellent atk and def stats, resists leaf storm and leaf blade before terastalizing. immune to breaking swipe after terastalizing. rest heals full HP bar. covert cloak prevents breaking swipe from lowering torkoal's attack before it terastalizes. curse buffs 1 atk stage and 1 def stage. shell armor grants critical hit immunity which is immensely valuable given that neutral leaf blade critical hits at +6 atk can 1HKO most species and normally have a 1 in 8 chance of happening. tera blast has 80 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB damage when terastalized. clear smog resets sceptile's stat stages.

Cons: tera type mismatches base type, outsped by sceptile
