These words came from king David when he was in Judean desert (the wilderness of Judah).
Even in that desolate place, after being exiled from nation, family, and home, he never wavered in his love for God.
Chabad prayers usually sing this Psalm at their conferences.
In this performance we asked female Yemenite cantor Gila Beshari to bring this Hasidic Psalm composition her character and special voice. we asked to have a feminine performance in the divine voice of Gila Beshari.

Cantor Gila Beshari is best known for singing traditional Yemenite Jewish music.
She is considered a supreme authority when it comes to Yemenite singing especially the singing of Yemenite Jewish women songs.

She teaches many young singers, inspiring in her meticulous works many performers, composers and musicians. Well-known singers were also influenced by her work and performances (Noa, Ofra Haza).

After receiving rave reviews from new Delhi to Carnegie Hall Gila was repeatedly pursued to record an album of Yemenite music.
her debut album was released in 1998 and become a magnet and a source of inspiration for musicians and researchers around the world and an exemplary album that the fastidious audience has embraced with love.

Gilaโ€™s parents, like most of Israelโ€™s Yemenite community immigrated to Israel from Yemen in the first two years of young Israel.

Gila was born in Israel into a close-knit traditional family where her liberal father not only encourage her to sing but also taught her the closed world of men's songs.
The young Gila fell in love with the melodies and inflection of the Yemenite synagogues with the innocent but impossible dream of becoming a Yemenite cantor herself.

Embraced by the divas who had learn their craft in the different villages of Yemen, Gila established a reputation for authenticity in womenโ€™s song as well. she became passionately interested in preserving the haunting melodies being lost with that passing generation and begun collecting old Yemenite recordings, revitalizing many in her concerts.
