•2 cup water

For dal fry
•1 tbsp oil
•1/2 tsp cumin seeds
•5-6 chopped garlic cloves
•chopped ginger
•2 green chilli
•1 onion
•1 small size tomato
•chopped coriander leaves
•1/4 tsp hing
•boil dal
•salt to taste
•water as required

For tadka
•1 tbsp oil
•1/4 tsp cumin seeds
•2 dry red chilli
•1/4 tsp red chilli powder
