Описание к видео ALCO RS-3's and Steam on the "Pocono Express" - NRHS 2010

On June 24, 2010, the NRHS ran an excursion from Scranton to Delaware Water Gap and back on the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad's mainline, which passes through the Pocono Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Pocono Express consisted of three ALCO RS-3's on the eastbound run, meanwhile, 2-8-2 CN 3254 ran tender first to East Stroudsburg, where it would join up with the train on the westbound run, and ultimately power the train west back to Scranton after the photo run-by's in Tobyhanna.

This video was made possible in cooperation with Penn Rail Videos.

A time-stamp navigator and clip description is listed below.

00 - The opening clip shows the chugging RS-3's from after shortly after its departure from Scranton.

25 - The first scene is by the old signal bridge in Moscow.

15 - The RS-3's blow for the Church St. crossing in Tobyhanna with the station in the background.

48 - Rounding the bend at Cresco, the train is moving at a good clip on the jointed rail.

28 - Arriving at East Stroudsburg, the CN 3254 awaits the return trip, but for now, east on to Delaware Water Gap.

57 - The train arrives at the scenic Delaware Water Gap. The Delaware River marks the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

50 - Now returning west, the train has picked up CN 3254 in tow, getting ready for the photo run-by's in Tobyhanna.

25 - The train rounds the curve at Henry's Crossing just outside of Paradise Valley, now climbing up hill toward Pocono Summit.

14 - The RS-3's lead the way into Tobyhanna, the train will back into position and do a run-by at track speed. The run-by's were shot with exclusive access to the photo line.

29 - Run-by One: ALCO RS-3's and CN 3254.

20 - The ALCO RS-3's cut away and head back to Steamtown ahead of the remaining Pocono Express now pulled only by CN 3254.

43 - Run-by Two: CN 3254 passes the Tobyhanna Station.

20 - Run-by Three: CN 3254 gets underway for the last run-by and heads back west toward Scranton. A little bit of pan action was used in this shot.

50 - We then catch the westbound Pocono Express pulled by CN 3254 at Gouldsboro Station, unfortunately, a random raincloud in the sky decided to ruin our sunny and clear skies and provided a light rain.

50 - The 3254 passes the sided ALCO RS-3's at the Moscow Station.

20 - The last scene of the day is 3254 passing Myrtle Street, just entering the Scranton City limits near Nay Aug Park.
