This Biography video deals with the life story of the poet Shankha Ghosh ( সাহিত্যিক শঙ্খ ঘোষ জীবনী / কবি জীবন কাহিনী ) from a different angle with references to his two famous poems -- Jamunabati and Babarer Prarthana ( যমুনাবতী ও বাবরের প্রার্থনা ) in Bengali.
He was born (Official name : Chittapriyo Ghosh) on 5th February in 1932 at Chandipur, now in Bangladesh. He was an Indian poet and critic. His pen name was Kuntak and Shuvamay Roy. In 1951, he got his undergraduate degree in Arts in Bengali language from the Presidency College, Kolkata. In 1954, he received his master's degree from the University of Calcutta.
Ghosh taught at many educational institutions, including Bangabasi College, City College (all affiliated to the University of Calcutta) and at Jadavpur University, all in Kolkata. He retired from Jadavpur University in 1992.
He died on 21 April 2021due to Covid19.
