This is a gentle yoga nidra practice to help you start your day with stillness, and welcome yourself into your day exactly as you are.

There can be this sense of pressure to start your day off on an energetic foot. That if you've woken up feeling sluggish or low or quiet, that you need to do everything in your power to change that. To energize yourself, to seek positivity in order to ensure you can maximize your productivity during the day. So, often, morning meditation or morning yoga practices are filled with energetic poses and intentions. Well, maybe, sometimes, that exactly the opposite of what you need.

In this practice you are encouraged to meet yourself exactly as you are, with kindness and stillness -- in order to sprinkle that energy throughout your day.

If you're new to yoga nidra, you are in for a treat! It's basically just a long and cozy savasana. Practice this meditation on your back, in you the coziest space in your bed, and enjoy 20 minutes of doing a whole lot of nothing.
