IBM: Skeletal Framing

Описание к видео IBM: Skeletal Framing

Here We Go! Another episode of the BLC, this time focusing on your Individual Body Mechanic of FRAMING.
This element of West Coast Swing is so important because it acts as both a capstone to our IBM’s AND as a transfer zone for communicating to our partners! This means having accurate and comfortable framing is an essential skill to develop.
We are going to do that by developing the proper Skelton placement for our body. Try to keep the muscles relaxed and focus on where the bones of your body are sitting.
Don’t worry though 😉 we will add what you need to do with your muscular engagement in the next FRAMING video.

Here’s some important baselines to keep in mind about Skeletal Framing
- It can be overdone! So find the comfortable middle ground for your body between feeling upright and relaxed
- It’s usually underdone, so don’t be afraid to stretch yourself to try and establish a maximum for practice, even if you don’t actually maintain that extreme while dancing
- Skeletal Framing is a postural based awareness of your body’s alignment
- Plus side, that means it’s whatever alignment is best for your perfect body that’s perfectly yours, so don’t worry if it doesn’t match someone else’s body
- Skeletal Framing projects confidence and you deserve to feel confident for being here and putting in the work to develop these skills

I know you can do this. Keep the focus on your framing as you exercise your understanding of your body in the “right” and “less right” places. Focus on your skeletal posture for the following zones
- Arms
- Spine
- Head/Shoulders
Then try combining these with our previous material to really push yourself to develop a comprehensive synthesis of the information. Good luck practicing!
