Ooh this one's tough. It's a more annoying version of Sawyer's EBE back in 2nd anni, and that was already pretty annoying. The constant debuffs and AOE moves really hurt the team, and with Hoenn only having a few Impervious tanks (or damage-dealers for that matter), it really pushes you to think out of the box in terms of teambuilding.

The running theme for this is how I use the "wrong" unit with respect to SS Steven, who is of course the No. 1 pick for this fight.

Here's how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Yeah, SS Steven has the better nuke and more sheer utility, but is he a rival? I don't think so. Lear is actually really good for this stage as not only is he on-type, his trainer move can temporarily block all the debuffs and provides teamwide regen. Hyperspace Hole also bypasses accuracy checks so he doesn't have to worry about the -2 Accuracy at the start of the fight.

Bianca is yet another wrong unit for this as there are now two Hoenn-based Psychic Terrain setters, but since I have neither of them I went with her. And she isn't dead weight at all as she does provide Sp Def debuffs. I probably should've gridded her with Impervious but it would've required me to sacrifice a few other useful tiles. Roxanne completes the team as her multitude of buffs helps ramp up Lear's Rising Tide multiplier.

Base Steven was a good pick for his Anni alt's EBE, and he reprises that role here. His self-sufficiency is also very much appreciated, as you can then dedicate resources to preserving your tank instead. Liza doesn't take well to the physical moves, so she has Hop to help her with his Defense buffs and heals. While they both fold to Croagunk's sync move, Steven manages to finish the job on his own.

Team 3: EX SS Brendan / Lisia / EX Spring Burgh - https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=...

Striker SS Brendan makes his return as Luster Purge is SE, and he has Lisia to help him get through the accuracy debuffs with Defog. Spring Burgh completes the team with his buffs and Potions, and thanks to the double support EX boost Lisia gets to deal quite a lot of damage late into the clear as well. This does require a lot of luck though as even at -6 Evasion, there's still a chance for the moves to miss if the unit's at -6 Accuracy.

Team 4: EX Archie / EX SS Kris / Winona - https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=...

Really annoying clear to get, but the idea was to bypass the accuracy checks with rain-backed Thunder and Hurricane. Winona is also bulky enough to take the hits thanks to her self-Defense buffs, SS Kris's Sp Def buffs, and Archie's master passive. When Archie got flinched I almost threw my phone lol, but thankfully he's bulky enough to finish the job thanks to Rain Gear.
