Short-to-Long Sprint Planning Tutorial

Описание к видео Short-to-Long Sprint Planning Tutorial

Planning can sometimes feel like the most boring part of implementing a training program. However, good planning will only lead to optimal results, especially when developing an effective sprint program.

In this case, we review the concept of implementing your sprints in a short-to-long approach. Short-to-long implies starting with shorter sprints and gradually lengthening those sprint distances to allow an athlete to reach higher velocities. It not only allows you to perfect the mechanics and physiological requirements for starts and acceleration, it also allows you to progressively load the athlete with more intense runs over a gradual period. This ensures that the necessary strength and work capacity requirements are in place before you hit higher velocities.

This information is provided in greater detail in my Running Mechanics Professional courses - online and in-person - and virtual sprint training programs, as well as through my consulting work with SprintCoach.com.
