The Summer We Lived | Summer Enrichment Programme | Phase II, 2024

Between August 19th and September 6th, students from Kwansei Gakuin University, Shizuoka University, Otaru University, Osaka Metropolitan University, Tohoku University, Tottori University, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta embarked on an unforgettable journey together.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Global Network Club, and in celebration, this video introduces a new storyline approach. The video follows Yutaka, a Japanese student, as he drifts into a dream filled with vivid memories of his recent three-week stay in Malaysia for a Summer Enrichment Programme. In his dream, he relives the adventures, friendships, and cultural experiences he had with his fellow local and Japanese buddies. Yutaka’s dream captures the essence of their journey, from exploring lively markets and lush landscapes to trying new foods and experiencing local customs. As the dream unfolds, it becomes a heartfelt montage of the connections made and the growth experienced during the program. Suddenly, Yutaka wakes up and realizes that these cherished moments are now just memories. Understanding that while those days are gone, they have left a lasting impact on him, shaping his perspective and enriching his life.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the program. Special appreciation goes to the i-smart Buddies for their unwavering support and efforts in ensuring the program's success. May these experiences serve as a foundation for many more successful endeavors and meaningful encounters in the future.

Global Network Club (GNC) is a club under the direct supervision of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. Our motto 'Bridging the World', alliged with the internationalization of the faculty, focuses on building a connection with students from all over the world.
