Fix AFS xenon range fault (C1036 15) level sensor in VW Golf MK7 (5G)

Описание к видео Fix AFS xenon range fault (C1036 15) level sensor in VW Golf MK7 (5G)

After getting #AFS error message on the dashboard, xenon headlights in my Volkswagen Golf MK7 were stuck in failsafe position making the car very hard to use at night. Checked fault code with OBDeleven and found DTC C1036 15 (C103615) "Left rear level control system sensor - Open circuit/short to B+". #Fault can not be cleared.

🔍 After investigating wiring in the car and checking sensors connector I could find anything that can be wrong with the car other than the sensor itself. Decided to order new one, replace it, and check if the fault can be cleared.

🔧 #Sensor is held by 4 torx screws. There's also a 4-pin connector that needs to be undone. Part number is 5Q0 907 503 (5Q0907503). Most likely the same sensor (maybe with different bracket or different link length) is used in other VAG/MQB cars (Seat, Skoda, Audi...). Issue was fixed as soon as the sensor was replaced.
