Do you want to turn old apples into delicious German-inspired Apple Pie? One that does not have any refined sugar! This is a simple forgiving recipe that leads to a yummy dessert.
All the appliances you need are some bowls, a pot, a stainless steel pan or baking pan, a fruit peeler, a knife, and an oven.
Filling Ingredients:
-Apples (5-10 depending on the size)
-Cinnamon
-Lemon
Wet Ingredients:
-7 oz butter (room temp)
-2/3 cup honey
-3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
-1 egg
Dry Ingredients
-2 cup of flour
-3 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
PSA: I am a novice baker. If a beginner like me can manage a decent apple cake pie you probably can too. This recipe was inspired by my German friend who introduced me to this type of pie. I never really was a pie fan but this... THIS is SO GOOD. In my opinion, it has a better crust-to-filling ratio than most traditional American pies.
I’m probably doing things wrong technically but so far it's working. Comment below if you have any tips to increase my baking competence.
