Its not just woods exploring out here it is old farms homes villages & new england history

When you go out into the woods of New England keep in mind this was not all forest 200 years ago. Walking along the old rock walls out here you have to realize these are the old farms of the 1800s and 1700s. Many people lived here and called it home. I go out exploring and looking for the signs of people doing things a long tie ago like improved land, stacked rocks and other land features. Sometimes we see old fruit trees that tell us we are near where there was a colonial house or barn. Today I found a small garden area where you can see people did some farming because of the stone walls made up of all the small rocks as well as the piles of field stones that had been dragged out by stone boats to the edge of the farms.
