It’s not a personal battle between you and your child. It’s a “battle” between your child and the person you’re raising them to be.

Another way to put this is - it’s not you against your child on separate teams. It’s you and your child on the same team, against the challenge you’re working through.

I think one of the hardest parts of parenting must be not making it about you. Meaning, remaining “above” the chaos, not taking it personally and standing solidly in your role as a mentor and leader.

Anyone challenged by this 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏼‍♂️ Oh yes, I think we all are, at least sometimes :)

Remind yourself as often as you need. My child is not my peer. My child is a child, still growing, learning, making mistakes and in need of a mentor. I am that mentor ❤️ Hope this helps a bit!
