ACK Kambaru Mixed Secondary School

ACK KAMBARU mixed secondary school was started in 2009 and registered 2010. The school was a community initiative so s to address the problem of long distance to neighbouring school and challenge of flash rivers during rainy seasons which would make many student absent themselves from school and dropping out of school.
The school is located on 6 acres of land in a miraa growing zone. Though the miraa support parent in for education of their children. It leads to dropping out of school to enter into this business. Absenteeism from school because of miraa child labour.
The school has been offering 8-4-4 system of education, though now preparing to the new Kenya system of 2-6-3-3-3. The Competence Based-Curriculum. And therefore a lot of changes needs to be done to prepare for this new curriculum. Currently the school is trying to broaden the curriculum in order to include trade courses like Building and Construction, Business studies, Agriculture, Home science, Computer, Wood work, Electricity, Beauty therapy and hair design, Art And Drawing and Music
