1937 HITS ARCHIVE: So Rare - Guy Lombardo (Carmen Lombardo, vocal) (original no-echo version)

Of course the 1957 Jimmy Dorsey hit will be most familiar for many, but the song had been a very successful hit the first time around in 1937, climbing to #1 on “Your Hit Parade” and selling a fair number of 78s for the bands of both Guy Lombardo and Gus Arnheim (also posted). RCA Victor’s vinyl reissues of this track over the years were usually augmented with artificial echo that was not present on the original-release version heard here.
