Whispering (Schonberger)
played by
Green Brothers Novelty Band
Edison 50711-R
(“78 rpm record” – actually, 80 rpm)

Johnson & Shirley (American Dance Bands on Records and Film 1915 – 1942) say that this recording may or may not include the following personnel:

Earl Oliver, Hymie Farberman, Harry Glantz (trumpets); Tom Brown, Charles Randall (trombone); F. Wheeler Wadsworth, Rudy Wiedoeft, Sammy Feinsmith (alto sax); Ed Volinsky (violin); Victor Arden, Phil Ohman (piano); John Helleberg (brass bass); George Hamilton Green, Joe Green (drum, xylophone, marimba). Recorded New York, September 14, 1920.

Apparently George Hamilton Green was not just a xylophonist, but also a composer, and cartoonist! He was born in Omaha, NE, and you can find out more about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_...

Image from discogs.com. I still have this one in my collection, and it is the flipside of “Feather Your Nest”:    • "Feather Your Nest," played by Lenzbe...   . Surface noise reduced by using Vinyl Studio software.
