A few hundred years ago, Adi Saptagram was an important port of Bengal. This township was built on the banks of the river Saraswati. I roamed around Adi Saptagram and found out the places you must see while visiting Adisaptagram.

Uddharan Dutta Thakurbari - This place is very near to the Academy of Technology. Hundred of years ago Shri Nityananda Prabhu visited this place. Uddharan Dutta was an utmost devotee of Nityananda Prabhu. This house holds a historical significance.

Jamaluddin Mosque: This mosque was built in 1529 AD by Sayyed Jamaluddin. You will be amazed to see the terracotta works on the walls. The Saraswati river is flowing beside the mosque. This place is maintained by the Archeological Department of India.

Suakhal Paryatan Kendra: This park is owned by our State Government. Years ago this place had demonstration models of Energy Sources like Thermal, Water, and Solar. I was disappointed at the maintenance of this place. Now, this park has no models. The entry fee is Rs. 15/-.

Sarat Chandra Ancestral House: This is the birthplace of famous writer/novelist Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. He spent his childhood here. One Library cum museum is there near to this house.

Terracotta Temples: Besides the Library, I found a 170-year-old Temple. Though I mentioned the temple as terracotta, but the temple is almost ruined. Many of the works have now ruined.

Raghunath Das Goswami Sripat: At last I visited, Raghunath Das Goswami Sripat. Raghunath Goswami is related to Panihati's Dahi Chida Utsav. This house at Krishnapur hosts a Uttarayan Festival (In January) in his memory. On that day, this place hosts the popular fish festival.

How to reach: Take Bardhhaman Local from Howrah/Sealdah, Adi Saptagram is the next station to Bandel. Upon arrival, take a toto to roam around the places I have mentioned.
