Exploring Knotty Ash and Stanley Station - abandoned disused closed railway - Liverpool Loopline

Описание к видео Exploring Knotty Ash and Stanley Station - abandoned disused closed railway - Liverpool Loopline

A look around what remains of Knotty Ash and Stanley Station, a former suburban station on the Cheshire Lines Committee's Halewood to Aintree branch in Liverpool.

The station was open between 1879 and 1960, with its goods yard lasting until 1972. After closure the trackbed was turned into the Liverpool Loopline Walkway and a Sainsbury's built on the site of the goods yard.

The platforms survive. Part of the southbound platform is used for the walkway, while bits of the Northbound platform appear in the undergrowth. There is also sections of perimeter wall, and the ramp from Prescot Road into the station.

Filmed 30 October 2022.
