Railfanning Metra Around Chicagoland May 2024 (ft. AMTK 161 & 203, METX 211 & CP 2816) (4K)

As we now approach the final two videos, here is my third Metra video I have shot, and so far my favorite. During this weeklong adventure with the 2816, we had planned on Filming Metra and Amtrak as well. As Chicago does seem to get a lot of Amtrak heritage Units. This video was filmed between May 5th through May 9th. Kicking off again on the 5th in Hastings, with the Eastbound Amtrak Empire Builder, we also get the Westbound later at Wisconsin Dells. On May 6th, as Tribute to my last Metra video I included #2816 pulling into Bensenville Yard. After that, we would catch two Metra Trains at Bensenville, before going to Crystal Lake to get some F40s during the evening rush, and in Golden Light. On May 7th, after geting a heads up from a Friend we would go to Napersville to catch the Amtrak Phase 1 Heritage unit, with the Operation Lifesaver Heritage Unit. While at the BNSF Racetrack we would catch the Metra Burlington Route Heritage Unit Trailing. On May 8th, we would spend the day in Franklin Park, catching Metra, and 2816 during its Franklin Park Display day. On May 9th, we would catch a Metra Train in Elgin as well as 2816. While filming this video, with the crew I traveled with ‪@GTRailFanProductions‬ ‪@Viloco_Valve_Productions‬ ‪@DroppedSignal‬), ‪@ATrain4014‬ gave us the Heads up for the Phase 1 Heritage unit and we ran into him. We also ran into ‪@DynamoProductions-trains‬ & ‪@BTCRAILFILMS‬ as well trackside while making this video.

There's only one more video from my Vacation back in May, and that will be of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern 765, also known as the other 765 from Gary Indiana. It was a a lot of fun back in May. Now that we have also chased the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Doubleheader with #630 and #4501 in June, it is a quiet summer for the most part.
