This striking sideboard dates from the early twentieth century, but has been restored and refinished with a new, distressed dark blue lacquer and new hardware. Originally from Shanxi province in central China, the sideboard has two cupboard sections with four drawers above, offering plenty of storage space. The apron at the bottom is decorated with relief carvings of stylised dragons, adding a more ornate element to an otherwise simple design.
