Celebrate the mystical poetry of the Bhakti Poets and immerse yourself in their entrancing lyrics with Kaluram Bamaniya from Malwa belt of Madhya Pradesh. Kaluram, the leader of the Bairaag Kabir Lok-Bhajan Mandal, was born from a family of singers who have been transmitting the enchantment of Kabir, Gorakhnath, and Meera's poetry in their voices for many generations. In his opinion, music is more than simply an art form; it is a way of life.

This insightful composition portrays the dilemma of the poet who is unsure of pouring his heart out to others. His thoughts are different and parallel to what the world thinks. How will he align his feelings with the rest!?

He describes what he sees but the others believe in the written word. He wishes to come out of the chaos and others are just entangled in the chaotic world. He believes in the awareness of mind but others are still in deep slumber. He asks others not to be greedy but they are still busy in their materialistic pleasures.

The poet says that the Guru’s grace is flowing gently, his body reflects his wisdom and we must wash our ignorance and sinful nature in it. Saint Kabir says that if we succeed in gaining Guru’s guidance, we can lead a meaningful life. Listen to this beautiful Bhajan in the melodious voice of Kaluram Bamaniya.

English translation of the song -

O crow, eat all of this body
Bit and bit of my flesh
Just leave away these two eyes
I Still hope to witness my beloved

Meera drank the cup of poison
Gripping the thread of Raam’s name
Got across this world

A cup of poison sent the Raana
Laid it on Meera's hands
She drank, knowing as the lord’s nectar
You know the rest, O Gopal!

A casket of snakes sent the Raana
Handed it to Meera
When opened up the casket,
Finds out a bejeweled necklace

A casket of scorpions sent the Raana
Laid it on Meera's hands
When opened up the casket
Turns out a divine stone of Shaligram

I plea joining my hands
Do listen, O my fate maker!
Meera met his Girdhar, the mountain holder
She prospered after all
