Wir sind in Belgien angekommen, direkt an der Hauptstraße steht eines dieser unzähligen Backsteinhäuser, im Inneren DAS, was man von Orten wie diesem inzwischen schon kennt. Auch hier spielte die Religion eine scheinbar wichtige Rolle, doch es könnte sein, dass in diesem Haus unter dem Deckmantel des Glaubens ein echtes Verbrechen stattfand.

Es gibt zwei unterschiedliche Theorien zu dem was in diesem Haus passiert sein könnte, ich möchte euch beide präsentieren und ihr entscheidet welche für euch plausibler klingt: die eine ist eine klassische Variante wie man sie in ähnlicher Form schon mehrfach gehört hat, die andere eine kriminelle Version, bei der es um Diebstahl und möglicherweise Millionenwerte geht!

Nach der Erkundung des ersten verlorenen Ortes bleibt uns noch ein wenig Zeit und wir steuern deshalb ein zweites Ziel an. Hier – im Haus der alten Dame – haben sich gleich mehrere dramatische Ereignisse abgespielt, die eigentlich für zwei Leben gereicht hätten, doch alle hat sie überlebt, die Bewohnerin dieses kleinen einfachen Anwesens. Ihr Name ist Maria und passenderweise hat sie inzwischen ein fast schon biblisches Alter erreicht: in diesem Jahr feiert sie ihren 108 Geburtstag. Was sie alles erlebt hat und die Ereignisse, die zum Leerstand ihres Hauses führten, erzähle ich euch auf diesem Tape …

We have arrived in Belgium, right on the main street is one of those countless brick houses, inside what you already expect from places like this. Here – as in so many other Belgian houses - religion seemed to have played an important role, but could it be that a real crime took place in this house under the guise of faith.

There are two different theories about what could have happened in this house, I would like to present both of them to you and you decide which one sounds more plausible to you: one is a classic variant that has been told in a similar form several times, the other is a criminal version involving theft and possibly worth millions!

After exploring the first abandoned place, we still have a little time left and are therefore heading for a second destination. Here - in the house of the old lady - several dramatic events took place, which actually would have been enough for two lives, but she survived them all, the resident of this small, simple property. Her name is Maria and fittingly she has now reached an almost biblical age: this year she will celebrate her 108th birthday.
