Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection - Legend - 1 Loop - All Stages - No Retries - 1 Life clear No Deaths

I am extremely proud to present a 1 life clear (no deaths OR retries) for Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection - Legend Mode on PS4. This run features a full run through all 7 stages of the first loop!

This run was streamed live on November 8, 2021.

History: After working for about 3 months on clearing the game just ONCE on Legend (with the True Ending), I took a few weeks off and decided I would try to clear 1 loop of Legend mode on one life (5 stages). This took 1-2 months of practice, about 1-2 hours a day.

After getting that clear, I took about a week off and decided to learn the B stages and do a full clear of the first loop on one life. This took me an ADDITIONAL 2 months of daily practice.

This game is easily the most difficult game in the entire Ghouls / Makaimura series, and in my opinion it's also the best. The randomness is RELENTLESS. There are many dozens of spots in the game that can go many ways, so learning to devise a strategy of clearing the game methodically every time is impossible. You have to play the game enough in order to devise strategies that usually work (in a probabilistic sense).

I did NOT allow retries for this run, which means that any arremers you wake up must be fought directly. These are the toughest arremers in any GNG game, so it can be quite frustrating to attempt.

Getting good enough to clear this game on one life takes hundreds of hours. You have to learn how the chest system works, learn where they all are, learn where the bees are, and create a route for yourself. I don't get every chest in every stage, as some are too unsafe for me to go for, and the name of the game is safety.

This game has not only the most difficult stages of the series, but the boss fights are also the hardest of the series as well. The most challenging bosses are Dragon (2A), Cerberus (2B), Beelzebub (4), and Astaroth (5). All four can randomly choose to do really difficult patterns that are really hard to survive (especially Astaroth). He is the worst boss in the game (when he wants to be).

This run went VERY well, even though I was unlucky in a few parts. I was forced to fight the Stage 3 arremer due to bad luck, and he nearly killed me. There were a few other close calls but I pulled through. Some of the recoveries were pretty epic.

Uncovering most of the chests is important so that you have as many recovery opportunities as you can. For the difficult bosses, you need to come in with Gold armor in order to optimize your chances of success.

The key to beating games in this manner is to just keep practicing, but not enough to burn yourself out.

Altogether I've been playing this game for a little over 8 months. I'm still in shock that I was able to pull this off. Yes, my eyes were actually watery at the end of this video. It's finally time to rest and play other stuff.
