It's been 8 years since I started making music. 8 years ago, I uploaded an original guitar arrangement of this song--it was my first ever arrangement that I produced, programmed, mixed, and uploaded to this channel! As a way to showcase how far I've come, I wanted to re-do this song with my modern style and production, while still maintaining some callbacks to my original arrangement. I also have wanted to write English lyrics to this song for ages, so this was the perfect chance to do both! I love Nagi no Asukara and this opening is one of my favorite anime OPs of all time--there's something magical about that sparkly, icy piano intro, the soft vocal, the low-key drums, and then that explosion into the anthemic chorus. I wanted to keep all those elements intact while hyping up the arrangement into more rock territory, and also adding a bunch of guitar parts! I'm super proud of the parts I wrote for this and also the guitar tones--that watery, chorusy clean tone is one of my favorites :D. I asked Spiral to sing on this track as I thought that her super soft and intimate tone would work well, and I'm glad I did--her vocal really suits a song like this! She also did the VA line so incredibly well; it's one of my favorite parts of the song haha. Overall, I had a great time re-arranging this track, and am really happy with how it came out!
