Metal Allergy in Total Knee Replacements - Allergy to nickel, cobalt or chromium?

Many patients have concerns about metal allergies. Total knee replacements and total hip replacement implants are made of metal. Although metal reactions and metal allergies are rare, most frequently people react to nickel. Other metals such as cobalt and chromium can cause a reaction. In this video I will cover the idea of metal allergy or metal sensitivity in patients who are having a total knee replacement.
