Incredible zoom lens, one of the greatest in the Sony Trinity. 16-35mm is a very versatile focal length range that allows you to get some amazing images of landscapes, architecture, city streets or interiors of buildings. People also use this lens as a vlogging lens or to show off their surroundings. It has been specially designed to work well with light gimbals and is not too heavy at around 500 grams. Physically it's comparable to the 24-70 GM II and utilizes the same case pouch and filter thread size of 82mm.

This lens replaces my 20mm F1.8G which is a brighter prime with little to no faults. I am also hoping to get a 14mm F1.8 GM in the near future. For detailed shots you can also use the APS-C crop in combination with this lens at 35mm to get an equivalent of around 50mm. Bokeh on the G-Master is comparable to Bokeh on prime lenses although not quite as good. For travelling it's very hard not to recommend or point out the compact nature of this lens in comparison to needing to carry several prime lenses (16, 20, 24, 35, 50) to achieve a similar result.

These newer Sony mark II lenses are perfectly engineered and are a significant iterative refinement over the previous versions. The only downside I can think of is the price and that it might not be as spectacular as some prime lenses at night.
