Abstract Painting Demonstration In Oil Paint With Masking Tape / Work #6

In this video I start out by applying an acrylic base colour. I then apply layers of thin, translucent mixes of oil paint and Winsor & Newton 'Liquin' medium. Each layer is masked with tape to create random geometric shapes, this influences the paintings overall balance and final outcome.I try to give the abstract work a modern funky look with the use of colours that compliment each other. You could experiment with colours that suit the interior of a room - experiment with this simple but effective idea!

Another video showing how easy it is to get started with oils and acrylics - creating cool works with the most basic materials and techniques. Have a go yourself and see what you can come up with.
