The Seductive Insanity of EVIL DEAD RISE

Описание к видео The Seductive Insanity of EVIL DEAD RISE

This is a spoiler-filled video essay on Evil Dead Rise, a horrifying horror movie directed by Lee Cronin and starring a pregnancy fearing woman named Beth (played by Lily Sullivan) who has a very strange night of confronting her primal fear of family time.

But of course, this is an Evil Dead movie, so there's plenty of insane deadite insanity to discuss, analyze and ponder for this commentary video. So we also take a little dip into the history of Evil Dead, including Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead trilogy, starring the GOAT Ash Williams (played by Bruce Campbell), and Fede Álvarez's soft reboot Evil Dead (the 2013 one) starring Mia (played by Jane Levy). Just as well, we provide a recap of Evil Dead Rise's plot if you need a little brushing up. Oh, and we also manage to talk about Lee Cronin's preceding indie feature film, the Hole in the Ground, go figure.

All in all, Evil Dead Rise and the other Evil Dead movies are made for the pure bloody, blood-soaked fun of it, but there's also an intriguing philosophical and psychological fascination to the deadites and their very strange ways of being in the world. So of course, we talk the metaphorical goodness that goes into the making of that delicious cake.
