Trekking Ausangate to Rainbow Mountain with a PARASITE | 4 day trek | Travel in Peru

The Ausangate Trek is a high altitude trek in the Peruvian mountains near Cusco. You're trekking at an average altitude of over 4000m.

It's more strenuous than the Salkantay Trail, but completely doable with appropriate acclimatisation.

I was severely ill on this trek with a parasite (a test I took when I arrived back home confirmed that) and the flu I suspect. After having already trekked for 22 days a high altitudes in Peru, this was a trek that almost pushed me to breaking point.
