I Replicated Eyvind Earle's Concept Art from Disney's Sleeping Beauty: Gouache Tips & Techniques

In this video I try to replicate a fun and beautiful scene from Disney's (1959) classic, Sleeping Beauty, which Eyvind Earle's backgrounds set the tone for, making it one of the most beautiful animated features ever... Still holds up!

In this video I focus on mixing colours, gouache consistency, atmospheric perspective, gradients, glow, and I also talk a little about the production phase of Sleeping Beauty and how Eyvind landed on the medieval inspired style he used in his paintings.

*Watercolour brushes / flat head and round

*Illustration Board

*Washi Tape

*Yogurt lids

*Water & paper towel
