Join me as I attempt to dye wool and cotton yarns with Dylon hand dye https://amzn.to/2t21LlE (Affiliate link) for the first time! I decided to start with a kettle dyed approach so we could see just how much color we can get on our yarn.

VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction. We presoaked 100 g 100% Peruvian Highland wool http://shrsl.com/k9c0 (KnitPicks affiliate link) and 113 g 100% cotton (Lily Sugar'n'cream) in plain tap water
[1:11] Preparing the dye (Dylon Black). I mixed the 50 g of dye into 3 cups of warm tap water. The final dyebath had a total volume of 15 cups of water + 4 T non-iodized table salt.
[4:23] Adding the yarn to the dyebath
[6:27] After 1 hour, removing the yarn from the dyebath
[7:29] Washing the yarn
[10:10] The finished dry yarn and conclusions
