【食谱】
-汤圆-
糯米粉 150克
食用红色素 1滴
热水 80毫升
冷水 80毫升

-糖水-
姜 30克
斑斓叶 5片
冰糖 130克
热水 1000毫升
冷水 100毫升

【Ingredients】
-- Glutinous Rice Balls --
150g of Glutinous Rice Flour
A drop of Red Food Colouring
80ml of Hot Water
80ml of Cold Water

-- Syrup --
30g of Ginger
5 Pandan Leaves
130g of Rock Sugar
1000ml of Hot Water
100ml of Cold Water

【汤圆】是元宵节最具有特色的食物。
将糯米粉和水,搓揉成面团,再分割成小面团,搓揉成圆形。
圆形的外观与月亮相似,象征着团圆吉利。
故此,有着吃汤圆代表着祝愿家庭和睦,团团圆圆。

贴士:
1.揉面时切勿一次加太多水,揉和后,如果面团太干就加入少许水;太粘手就加些糯米粉。
2.揉至面团不粘手,其干湿度以不粘手为准。
3.汤圆里还可以包裹喜欢的馅料,如花生粉、芝麻,等等。

*糖水的甜度可依照个人喜好而做调整。



【Glutinous Rice Balls】also called Tang Yuan.
It is a Chinese dessert that consumed at the Yuan Xiao Festival.
It is made by glutinous rice flour and water.
The round shape of the balls come to symbolize the family togetherness and
represent a wish for everything will be smooth in the new coming year.


Tips:
1.Gradually add in the water to avoid the dough too watery. Add in a little bit of water if the dough is too dry; add in glutinous rice flour if it is too sticky.
2.The dough is ready when it has a smooth texture and will not stick to your hand.
3.Tang Yuan can also be made with different fillings, like peanuts, black sesame, etc.

*The sugar levels of the syrup can be adjusted according to personal preferences.
