☆ Glossary of Kendo Terms
- Mitokoro-kakushi
A defensive technique where the practitioner hides their "Men" (headgear), "migi Kote" (right hand), and "migi Do" (right side of the trunk) all at once to block the opponent's attack. This defensive posture is not in accordance with the principles of Kendo and is considered an undesirable technique.

- Da-totsu
Making effective strikes or thrusts with the bamboo sword to the target areas of Men (head), Kote (wrist), Dō (trunk), or Tsuki (throat), from a proper distance.

- Ura
The left side of your opponent's shinai (bamboo sword) as seen from the front while both practitioners are in the ready position.

- Omote
The right side of your opponent's shinai as seen from the front while both practitioners are in the ready position.
