《庫姆塔格》亦名《絲綢之路》，是上海民族樂團駐團青年作曲家姜瑩創作的一部帶有鮮明西域風情的民族管弦樂。「庫姆塔格」在維吾爾語中意為「沙山」，樂曲所展現的正是絲綢之路豐富的音樂文化。作者運用西域音樂多元的調式特徵，汲取弗拉明哥、探戈、踢踏舞等各種世界音樂元素，在編配上則加入了多種民族樂器，音樂氣質熱情奔放、大氣磅礴，充滿濃郁的地域特色。整部作品由悠揚婉轉逐漸發展為熱烈輝煌，彷彿金光照耀的戈壁大漠，神秘動感而又充滿希望。如今《庫姆塔格》已是多支民族樂團的保留曲目，成為深受聽眾喜愛的民族管弦樂精品新作。

The piece "Kumtag" (Sand Mountain in Uyghur) commissioned by the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, also called "The Silk Road", was composed by the young composer, Jiang Ying. It is a Chinese symphony painted with vivid tonality of the Western Regions and portraying the silk road's abundant music culture. Employed with diverse musical modes from the Western Regions, the piece is adopted with various world musical elements, namely Flamenco, Tango, Tap dance, etc. The orchestration is also enriched with various ethnic instruments rendering the rich charismas of passion, majesty, and exoticism.

The piece begins with mild and melodious passages and progressively develops into ebullient ones. A splendid landscape finally comes to the fore as if the "Gobi" desert is covered by sparklingly golden sunshine - mysterious, dynamic, yet inspiring. As of today, the Chinese symphony "Kumtag" is popular with the audience, and it has become the classic repertoire of many Chinese orchestras.
