Kona Manta Ray Snorkel With Sea Paradise

After a jammed packed day of hanging out with Family, Snorkeling, and Flying Drones Michelle and I joined most of the people who attended Jill and John's wedding the day before. Jill booked everyone a Night Snorkel with Sea Paradise. Sea Paradise operates a Large sailing catamaran that they use to conduct snorkel tours. One of the coolest parts is we were staying right up the road from where they dock the boat. One of the hotel employees gave us a ride in a golf cart down to the marina where Sea Paradise keeps their boat. After a quick Briefing we boarded the boat and motored maybe 10 minutes to the snorkel spot. We were one of the latest trips out, by the time we hit the water most of the other outfits were packing up. because we were one of the few people out there the Mantas flocked us! Sea Paradise brings out these custom floating boards with three hundred and sixty degrees of rails to hold on to. The boards have circular holes cut in them for very bright flash lights. The light attracts plankton which in turn attracts the Manta Ray. We were told this is one of the few places on earth where Manta Ray are accustomed to being fed with lights. This truly was an unforgettable experience and a must do for anyone staying in Kona. Don't worry if your not a good swimmer you will be holding on to the rails of the floating board the whole time. they even give you a noodle to help float your lower half..
