How New Republic citizens viewed the Imperial Remnant

A lot of people dislike just how over the top and incompetent the new republic seems in the recent Mandalorian and Ahsoka tv shows. People complain how leaders like Mon Mothma are completely blind to the true dangers lying in wait for the new republic in the outer rim. The resurgent imperial remnant and the future first order are given almost free reign to do whatever they want. Today I want to take a look at a different perspective and view how the average citizen of the new republic, how the average politician saw the galaxy. If we understand their point of view I don't think its surprising at all, that the New Republic more or less ignored the imperial remnant.
