Today, on our 2013 Land Rover Evoque, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118624. Here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times. We're just going to keep it attached here with our dust inaudible 00:00:21 cover, that way it's ready whenever we're ready to tow. Now, our wiring's going to provide us a four pole flat, and all the lights necessary when driving down the road with a trailer, such as your clearance lights, brake lights, and turn signals. Now, the installation of this is very straightforward.

It's going to connect to a factory harness that's already located underneath our vehicle. Now that we've gone over some of that, let's show you how we get it installed. To begin our installation, we're going to come to our driver side. Right behind our tail pipe, if we come to the outside edge, we're going to find a couple of plugs. Now, underneath our fascia here, we're going to have two plugs. Now, we're going to have one with a four pin and one with an eight pin.

We're going to need to take the cover off the bigger plug that has the eight pins on in. To take the plug off, be just like if we we're unplugging a connector. We're going to push in on that tab and it should separate it. Now, if you need to, you can pull this down. There's a clip above it that's held in to the frame and you can just pull down and it should release the clip.

If we push that gray tab down, it'll release the locking mechanism. We're going to take the cover off. Now, here's our wiring harness. Now, we are going to have to ground it, so we're going to have to find a piece of metal, then we can take our self tapping screw that's provided in the kit and secure our ground wire down. Now, I'm going to secure my ground wire before I plug in my harness, that way I don't have to worry about fighting my ground wire or fighting to get my drill in place to get my ground wire secure. If we actually just reach up right next to where it plugs into, we're going to have a nice spot, flat spot, that we can drill our self tapping screw right into.

However you can get in there to make sure you get a good ground. I'm going to go right here. I'm just going to take a self tapping screw and secure it into place. Now, before we plug in our connector, I always recommend using a little bit of dielectric grease. This is to help keep out the moisture and debris and any corrosion buildup from building up inside the plug. Put a small amount inside my plug, then I can plug my harness in until it clicks. Then we can re-secure the plug back onto that clip. Now we just need to route our wire over to the center of our hitch. I just want to mention you want to be careful of any heat sources like the exhaust here and you want to route it so that it's not ever going to touch or hang down on the tailpipe. Now, I just ran my wire from my driver side. I went behind my hitch, in between the hitch and the bumper itself, then I had it come down right here. Now, all we have left to do is test our wiring. Here I have a four pole tester. Now, with an extra set of hands, I'm going to have them run the lights. We can see that the clearance lights are working. Can I get the left turn signal, please Seems to be working well. The right turn signal And finally, the brakes Just to make sure everything's good, can I get the brakes and the turn signal Now the right. All right, everything looks to be good. We're ready to hit the road. That'll finish up our look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118624 on our 2013 Land Rover Evoque.
