These Marantz players are built much better than even suspected.
Having taken it apart in depth, I have found a lot of things that are there for reasons not quite clear to me. Proper engineering that will probably never be repeated.
Philips CDM-1 laser mechanism with real Carl-Zeiss glass lens and magnetic, swing arm head plus 2 x Philips TDA-1541A S1 Single Crown DAC ICs.
Superb condition.
But a bit of a pig to service if you let the belts turn into goo.
Replace them at the first sign of poor tray travel or CD clamping issues.
