In this video, I unbox and review the just-released Ever After High 2-pack, "Carnival Date," featuring Bunny Blanc (Daughter of the White Rabbit) and Alistair Wonderland (Son of Alice)! If you've been following the Ever After High webisodes for a while, you know that Bunny and Alistair have each liked the other for quite some time, but both are too shy to declare their feelings to the other.
So I was excited that Ever After High was releasing a 2-pack of Bunny Blanc and Alistair Wonderland going on a first date...to the carnival, no less! As soon as I found out about them, I went to my local Toy "R" Us to wander the aisles in search of this "Carnival Date" 2-pack, but to my chagrin, did not find it. However, a couple days later, I found it on ToysRUs.com and bought it online. The Carnival Date 2-pack costs $29.99, but it comes with no stands and no combs (their hair is so hard-gelled, it would be impossible to comb it anyway).
That being said, I still think that this 2-pack is very cute. Both Bunny and Alistair look adorable in pastel colors that evoke Easter and spring, and I love their carnival accessories. Let's review Bunny Blanc first:
Bunny is wearing a trademark bunny-ear headband, this time in white, held down by two plastic ties.
Bunny's hair is as shellacked as her original doll's, but the bangs are not as severe. They are swept to the side, giving her a softer look.
Bunny's skin is at the same time pinker and tanner, as if she's been out in the sun and came back with a rosy glow.
Bunny's eyes in this version are less wall-eyed (they don't stare off in opposite directions quite as much), so I was very happy with that.
Bunny's dress is adorable - sleeveless with a fuller skirt. The top is covered in triangles of various spring-y colors, while the skirt is mint-green and covered in jelly bean-colored ferris wheels. Her pocketwatch motif is sprinkled throughout, and it's even in her turquoise necklace.
Bunny's shoes have bunny ears on them, a cotton tail in the back, and ruffled socks. They are a darker lilac color...I am probably going to have to paint the socks white.
Bunny is wearing her trademark black gloves, but her white cuffs look slightly different than her original doll's.
Bunny's accessory is a bunny-head-shaped cotton candy, which is quite heavy. She'll need both hands to hold it (my doll does)!
Now let's examine Alistair Wonderland:
Alistair's hair is also hard-gelled/hairsprayed/shellacked. However, I like it much better than his original doll's hair, so I probably won't feel the need to boil-wash and redo it.
Alistair's skin also looks tanner than his original doll's, which is a nice touch. It's nice that Ever After High thought to have them both look a bit sun-kissed, as if they've spent all day out at a carnival.
Alistair is wearing a short-sleeved plaid shirt covered in compasses (his emblem), and denim shorts held up by suspenders. He's also got on a yellow bow tie. This was a surprising look for Alistair, because his first doll was dressed as if he were ready to go on safari, but I kind of like this sweet, nerdy look on Alistair.
Alistair's shoes are turquoise-colored loafers, and he doesn't appear to be wearing any socks.
Alistair's carrying an accessory that is a white stuffed "bunny," which I assume he won for his date Bunny at a carnival prize booth. The bunny has long floppy ears and is wearing a cravat. There is an EAH emblem on the bunny's back, as well as a cute fluffy tail.
The Carnival Date 2-pack is super-cute, and I think I'll be giving away this 2-pack as one of my March 2016 giveaway prizes! Let me know what you guys think of the new Alistair-and-Bunny 2-pack in the comments below!
