REVIEW OF EVER AFTER HIGH BOOK PARTY DOLL COLLECTION

This is a review of the Ever After High Book Party doll collection, consisting of 3 dolls: Kitty Cheshire, Ginger Breadhouse, and Lizzie Hearts. All 3 girls appear to be attending a book party: their dresses are adorned with pages of books plus their own story-specific detail, their shoes are all decorated with books, and they are all carrying book-related accessories. Kitty has what looks like a "bookpack," Lizzie is carrying a book purse, and Ginger is carrying a stack of books tied by a ribbon. Although I don't normally purchase budget dolls, I thought the Book Party dolls were so royally enchanting, I decided to break my own rule.

Book Party Kitty Cheshire: Kitty was the reason I decided to buy this collection. I love her open ears headband and her collar that goes down the front of her dress because of the yarn balls dangling off of it. Her dress is sleeveless and strapless, and has a Cheshire cat pattern over open books. The dress flares out into a purple glittery short skirt. Kitty's shoes, however, are the BEST...they are essentially a pair of cats. From the front, you can see their Cheshire grin and cat ears, and when you turn them to the side, you can see that the chunky heel is their hind legs, and then their tails curl up around Kitty's ankles. Also, Kitty's left shoe differs from her right shoe - the left one has an open book, the right one a closed book. Both books have a "K" engraved on the front. Kitty's "bookpack" is unlatchable, and she wears it slung low over one arm. The only oddity with Kitty is that her shoes are a periwinkle/purple, but on the artwork on the back of the box, they are depicted as black.

Book Party Ginger Breadhouse: Ginger, the daughter of the Candy Witch, always has a dessert theme. Her headband is 3 gingerbread men in front of a gingerbread house. Her necklace/collar is loops of blue icing ending in an open book. Her short strappy dress is layers of pink icing over the pages of open books, and her high chunky shoes are waffle cones dripping with pink icing. The heels are a stack of books, and the shoes are open-toed in front. Her accessory is a stack of 3 books in icing blue, held together by a blue string.

Book Party Lizzie Hearts: Lizzie Hearts is also adorable in this collection. She wears a headband featuring 4 playing cards, 1 of each suit. I particularly like her face-up with the two shades of eyeshadow: gold on the inner corner, brown on the outer corner. She wears a chunky necklace consisting of a pendant of 3 hearts, from which dangles a string of books (and even a butterfly!). Her strapless, sleeveless dress is covered with open books and cards, with each suit alternating down her dress. Her shoes are red open-toed stiletto heels with criss cross detail and of course, books at the ankles. Her purse is red and has short straps - it has a narrow opening that you could probably fit - what else? - a book into...Lizzie also has a discrepancy between her artwork and her actual doll. The purse is red, but in the artwork, it is gold.

Overall, this is a cute line, and at $14.99 each doll, it's quite a good deal. What do you guys think of the Book Party collection from Ever After High? Let me know in the comments below!
