Narrow gauge railroading is a charm that people brought to America, and with standard gauge railroading becoming increasingly popular in the steam days, narrow gauge railroads began to be phased out. Though, some survive into the 21st. One of the most famous railroads in general on the East Coast, is the East Broad Top Railroad. Chartered in 1906, the EBT was known for its coal hauling business. Towards the end of steam on the EBT, the railroad began running tourist trains to bring people to the railroad. Fast forward to 2024, after many times of closing and reopening, the EBT is thriving in the tourist industry. With the leaves beginning to change, people flock to the Aughwick Valley to experience the charm of the EBT. In conjunction with the Friends of the East Broad Top Railroad, the EBT puts on a fantastic show with 2-8-2 mikado #16, doodlebug #M-1, and railcar #M-3. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the East Broad Top Railroad, here in the Aughwick Valley
