In this episode of Technique Tuesday, Dr. Sam Schroetke demonstrates cervical retraction. This exercise may be very helpful for neck pain, pain that radiates into the upper trapezius, shoulder or scapula (shoulder blade). When performing this exercise, keep your head level (not looking up or down) and move your head back as far as you can. Make sure to check with your physician before performing this exercise to make sure that it is appropriate for you.
