Javelin throw specific conditioning may well be the most difficult training to work on successfully for coaches. It is so easy to make mistakes (an any mistake often results in injuries) and so difficult to find the right rate between STRENGTH , SPEED and FLEXIBILITY , with a constant care of the technical factor. This session is a 10 stages specific training circuit example which can be used mostly during the preparation and pre competition periods and which is adapted for advanced athletes of national level (Girls 50m - Boys 65m + ) still needing to improve their specific strength level. Using this session twice a week during a 6 weeks cycle should indeed bring some improvements !!! It can also give some ideas to coaches who don't know exactly how to work with javelin throwers and want to get a change from the usual Squat / Bench / Clean / Snatch traditional training. DP
